Teen and Adult Activities
The Teen Group is a DSACT group for teens with Down syndrome between the ages of 13-20. The Teen Group meets on the second Friday of each month from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at a local YMCA to build social skills, have fun with friends, and dance. A recreational therapist facilitates the group. Parents are welcome to stay or drop their teen and return. There are also community outings for typical teen activities like swimming, bowling, and going to movies. If your teen is interested in joining in on the social activities, please email Suzanne Shepherd at email@example.com to join the group.
Our Adult group is for individuals with Down syndrome age 18 and up. The Adult social group meets monthly to participate in activities like going to a movie, enjoying dinner together or bowling. If you are interested in joining in on the social activities, contact DSACT to be added to the Adult social group invite list.
In addition, DSACT is proud to offer numerous recreational programs free of charge to our members and siblings. Take a look below to see the upcoming Teen and Adult recreational programs and social events!

Texas Lassos Run/Walk Club
The Run/Walk Club was initiated in February of 2013 and is run by a group of UT Students, the Texas Lassos. The DSACT running club will introduce less experienced runners to the sport and encourage an active lifestyle for all.
Participants meet weekly (Saturday's from 10am - 11am) at the St. Edward’s University track for an hour of warm-up activities, walking and jogging around a track, and a cool down period. Participants should bring their running shoes and water. All ages and experience levels of running are welcome. The program is designed to be progressive as the season moves forward, culminating with DSACT 3.2.1 Fun Run in the Spring.
If you are interested in joining the Run/Walk club, don't forget to register by clicking on the RSVP button at the top of this page.
